Minecraft Town House

Today for CRT Erica’s Kaiawhina finished making a townhouse. We had previously planned and started it in the last two lessons. The house had to have two levels and we could have a basement if we wanted to. The plot of land had a perimeter of 32m and an area of 64m2. We could expand it one metre on each side. I used white concrete, black concrete oak planks and orange glazed terracotta. I also made windows out of glass. Next time I would make the facade go in as well as out. My favourite bit of my townhouse is the orange glazed terracotta. I learnt that placing a lot of stairs for a roof takes a very long time.

Various stages of construction, planning and angles of the finished house.

Life education

Last week the life education truck came to teach us life education.

We learnt about our 9 basic needs: Oxygen, food, water, exercise, sleep, love, safety, cleanliness and shelter. Also, half of your blood is oxygenated and half of it is not, and blood turns red when exposed to air. Your heart is in the centre of your chest but leans slightly to the left and is as big as your fist. Veins pump the blood around your body, supplying it with the things it needs.

Jo (the person teaching us) taught us all this, while Harold the giraffe just told jokes but he was cool.

Did any of these facts surprise you?
